For this newest series of paintings, A Near Perfect Place, I revisited the familiar theme of nature. Although I had an idea of the types of images I wanted to create, as time went on, the work evolved and became about something more than just the details of a specific place. Although they still reference landscape, these new works are also about my creative process. Being in that internal space is like being in a near perfect place – one full of longings, fears and small triumphs.
